The Holy Infant Choir… the most active group serving
the parish since it was reorganized way back December 1997, now on its fifth year of existence, and is still is active in
the parish, “serving Him through music”…
Looking back those years, the choir can proudly tells
about the various projects made not only for the benefit of the group but as for every parishioners, and as to the parish
as a whole. In 1998, the choir enable to raise funds all by themselves and purchased
a Yamaha guitar worth seven thousand pesos (P 7,000.00) use in every weeks service, the Sunday morning and evening mass. In 1999, a projector worth ten thousand pesos (P 10,000.00) was bought, and use during
Sunday mass as a guide for all the songs sung during the mass, this is also to encourage community singing among parishioners. In the year 2000, two (2) microphone and two (2) microphone stand was purchased amounting
to five thousand pesos, thus the singing is louder enough that church goers staying outside can hear and participate in the
singing and sing praises to Our Lord.
In the year 2001, everybody was aware that the church
is undergoing renovation, so the choir exerts more efforts to raise more funds and was able to raise up thirty thousand pesos
(P 30,000.00) and donated the full amount to the reconstruction of the Parish church.
And for the year 2002, the group is planning to buy another guitar so that young talents will be train to play the
guitar, thus encouraging them to serve HIM through their talent as guitarist. All
these projects was realized through the groups yearly Christmas caroling, in which proceeds always go to a common good so
that the people may know that their generous contribution is not just wasted.
Being a Holy Infant choir member is not just an easy
task, one must truly and fully give his commitment and dedication. To attend
every Saturday’s practice and monthly meetings is a must for all the members.
Service is every Sunday (morning and evening mass) and all holidays of obligations and feast day of saints. Not only that, masses in the barrios is also attended and joined by some members of the choir.
Truly, “serving him through music” is every
member’s way of praising Him and Glorifying Him. Thus, we pray to continue
to guide and make us worthy servants who serve only His purpose and will.
